Arm Partay!

Everyone enjoys a fun and festive
arm party.
What better way to sass up an outfit than to add a little arm candy lovin' here and there?

Man Repeller blog writer Leandra Medine has a keen eye for fashion and creativity, which is where the term 'arm party' evolved from. She is known for throwing some of the best arm parties and has actually coined the word to be her very own!
You can check out more of her eccentric arms on her blog.

Whether they are gold delicates, chunky bangles, or even threaded friendship bracelets,
the main goal is for it to be creative and stylish in your own way.

For my Monday post, I decided to collect some inspirationally//funky//fabulous arm party photos for you all to get ideas from or just to enjoy!

Designs by Fashion Star

So who watched the first season of
NBC's Fashion Star?

I have become absolutely obsessed with this show and can't get enough of it. I look forward to the seasons to come!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, 'Fashion Star' is a fashion designer competition between different styles of designers from different parts of the country (or even the world) who each aspire to have their very own collection featured in big name companies such as
Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy's AND H&M.

Each week, the designers have a theme or goal for their three piece collection to be featured on the runway for the all of the audience, mentors, and judges to see.

The show consists of three mentors and three judges.

You may have heard of the mentors before, but it is none other than House of Harlow 1960 founder Nicole Richie, men's sportswear designer John Varvatos and multi-billion dollar fashion designer Jessica Simpson.

At the end of each of the designer's runway show, Caprice Willard from Macy's, H&M's Nicole Christie, and Terron Schaefer from Saks 5th Avenue each choose if they would like to throw a few hundred thousand dollars at the designers for the chance for them to display their designs in their stores.

Now that the season is over, I decided to compile my most favorite designs from the season!

Winner of Season 1, Kara Laricks in her very own campaign shoot posing with models wearing her very own designs from the finale episode of Fashion Star.

After the very first episode, I knew that Kara was going to be a finalist. Her style is definitely something you wouldn't see every day. I love her drive to incorporate a sense of women's and menswear into one piece. I believe that her designs could definitely be the fashion of the future!

Do you think Kara should have won?

and what were your favorite designs this season?

XOXO!

Fashionable Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

Although school is out for summer, I am extremely happy that the weekend is here.

Unfortunately for me, I decided to take a May class which means I have class Monday-Friday for the next two weeks.

To jump start my day and all of yours, here are some fashionable photos from some of my favorite Tumblr fashion blogs!

{via Riches for Rags}

I love a fun and flowy unique patterned skirt for summer. To make the ultimate look, add lots of bangles and a chic sling handbag. Pair it off with some flats and you're good to go!

{via Smoothies}

I love color blocking, and what best than using some bright electric colors like blue and orange? This is business casual gone chic and I'm loving this inspiration.

{via moonlight-over-paris}

Gold and teal blue. What a perfect combination. The bright and metallic colors combined together is flashy yet under toned in the same way. Definitely a style must for this season.

{via Baublebar}

I absolutely love my arm candy. I don't care if it goes with an outfit or not, as long as there are lots of colors, lots of accessorizing and some gold and silver combined, it'll be sure to make an outfit pop.

Marchesa Spring 2012 Ready to Wear

My last photo is always from a runway collection. The ostrich feather sand the beautiful detailing on the side and back of this model is just flawless. I applaud Marchesa for always slaying on the runway!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. xox

Best Dressed 2012 MET Gala

This year's MET Gala
[aka the Oscar's of the East Coast]
was filled with couture explosions and glamor.

For those of you who don't know what all of the hollabalooza is about,
it is the celebratory annual ball in which the reopening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute occurs.

Women slap on their sexiest pair of heels, whip out their statement jewelry pieces and gather up some of the most extravagant gowns for this East Coast event while men get dappered up in the most exquisite pant suits...
All with the hopes of striking gold with photographers and audiences like you and me around the world for a glamorous red carpet appeal... as well as some oohs and ahhs.

So who fancied your appeal?

Here is my list of Best Dressed Females in random order:

Sofia Vergara
showed off her voluptuous curves in a strapless peplum and sheer lace dress by Marchesa. This under toned dress brought out color and some glow on Sofia's body, making her look flawless.

{via}

Solange Knowles was bright and electrifying in a peplum floor-length Rachel Roy dress. She went with some beautiful minimalistic silver jewelry and a diamond studded clutch. Surprisingly, her au naturale hair was absolutely perfect for this golden look.

{via}

Nina Dobrev wore an eye-catching and sparkling floor-length Donna Karan gown. The black and metallic pattern was gorgeous yet psychedelic at the same time, leaving it elegant and fun.

{via}

Karolina Kurkova taking the fashion risk of the night in a sparkling rose gold Rachel Zoe gown. I love that the model went with a long sleeved gown and added a quite fabulous turban leaving no strand of hair behind. I believe this shows she can be very versatile when it comes to fashion as well as culturally diverse - which you don't find in models very often these days.

{via}

Camilla Belle in a deep-v and sleek silk Ralph Lauren creation. This whole look screamed old Hollywood, which I absolute love on her. Her slicked back up-do and dark lip color made this whole look come together elegantly.

{via}

Dianna Agron also donned the old Hollywood look in a fabulous curled up-do and a jade colored draped Marchesa dress. The belt was a nice addition to add some shape to her body. This was a great change for Agron; she usually flops on the Red Carpet but I loved this innocent look on her.

{via}

Ashley Greene let her free falling waves down in a gorgeous Donna Karan Atelier gown. It was form fitting, flowy, and very appropriate for this occasion. This shade of white complimented her color so well, accentuating her glowing skin and dark locks.

{via}

Emily Blunt was simple yet color-friendly in this coral hue of a Calvin Klein design. It screamed "business in the front, party in the back!" (which are some of the best dresses, anyway-) She rocked it just like Heidi Klum did here & how Emma Stone did it here.

{via}

Lea Michele wowed us all in a deep v Diane von Furstenburg dress. Utter brilliance and sophistication is what it screamed out to me. The makeup was beautiful, the mid-high slit, and the curl up-do looked extravagant on the Glee star.

Who do you think was best dressed?
and who didn't make my list, but made YOURS?

xoxo!

May Must Haves!

So since it is May 3rd, I decided to go ahead and share with you all my
May Must Haves!

 These are some things that I have been absolutely CRAVING
(and yes I know this is a term used for when you are hungry and are absolutely dying to have something specific to eat),
 BUT it is totally necessary for me to use this word about these fabulous goodies.

And I'm keeping it short and sweet with just FOUR must haves (crazy right?!)

{via
 Iris Bib -  $545 Dannijo
{via}
 Sophie - $120 Sam Edelman

Love this simple yet chic wedge... (it also comes in 2 other colors!)

 Ace High Wedge Sandal $295 Tory Burch

The Dannijo bib is going to be my birthday gift. I've planned it since January.
Dead. Serious.

Share with me what your must haves are, and opinions on what you think about mine!

G-LICIOUS!

As you all may know,
I rarely post about
Menswear.

But this was definitely something interesting to post about...

Has anyone checked out the April issues of

GQ Magazine
this month?

And yes, it's not just one issue...
It's 3 separate issues with the faces of three very handsome men in the entertainment industry
wearing the sharpest and most stylish suits.

The magazine's issue for the month is titled as a
'Style Bible'
or something that a man can read and actually get some helpful tips from when it comes to apparel

(which they all need these days...)

Take it from these three amazing and talented men:

John Slattery

{via}
 The Madmen hunk is almost 50 years old and is still looking mighty fine. It's rare to find an older man that is in tact with his stylish side these days, so I really commend this guy. He dresses up with some patterned ties and fun button down plaids - only wearing some of the best names such as Emporio Armani, DKNY, Jill Sander, and Dior Homme.

Dave Franco

{via}
Does this guy look familiar? This is Dave - the little brother of actor James Franco. Dave made his big screen acting debut on 21 Jump Street and is now on one of the covers of GQ for the month! In his photo shoot, he was swagged out in some big time designer names such as Salvator Ferragamo and Z Zegna.

Drake

{via} {via}
Last but not least, my favorite man ever - Drizzy Drake! The rapper looks so clean cut in his GQ photoshoot - wearing a Louis Vuitton suit for almost $2,000 - which I must say is very refreshing because I'm sick of his black v-necks and jeans (sorry boo) but when the man dresses up THE MAN DRESSES UP! He wears Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, and Dior Homme... just to name a few.

It was great of GQ to create three different issues of three totally different men in the entertainment industry rocking all of this dashing attire and forming it into a Style Bible.
It was creative and perfect to reach out to the men out there, that are less fortunate with their choices of attire.

Make sure to check these out on the stands!

xoxo!
